Two Bucket-List Coins Found in the same day!
Let’s kickoff the rare coins and bucket-listers video page by going back to this property. We were hunting an early 1700’s colonial field and had already found Spanish silver, Liberty Cap large cents, a fistful of buttons, but then even more magic happened. Two incredible coins came bursting from the ground, seemingly one right after the other. In all our years detecting none of us had ever found either one of these rare coins before, and now we are holding two of them in our hands. This is what the excitement of metal detecting is all about, two amazing coins capping off one amazing day!

The Oldest Coin I’ve Ever Found
We’ve talked about the Cob field many times, it’s easily the oldest field we’ve ever metal detected. Well this absolute bucket list hammered Cob was the first coin that started it all, so to say it’s a bucket-lister is quite the understatement!

This colonial farm field was ripe for hte pickings for metal detecting. It was a low cut soybean field that made for easy swinging all day long. The finds we had to get over though, but when they did come they were amazing treasures!

We had already metal detected this property a few before, but it was so hot that day we had to skip the non-shady areas. So today when we return, this incredible 1793 Flowing Hair large cent, the second copper coin even made at the U.S. mint, was waiting there for us!
