THE COB FIELD: OUR OLDEST AND MOST HISTORIC FARM FIELD
If we’re going to feature some of the best and most historic farm fields we’ve ever metal detected on Quarter Hoarder, The Cob Field has to be at the top of the list. Over the years, this one field has produced more than 30 coins dating back to the 1600s, over 300 buttons, shoe and knee buckles, crotal bells, multiple gold rings, and countless other pieces of early American history including 5 hammered Spanish silver cobs! We still return after the harvest each year because in a field like this, almost any signal could be something incredible, and often times at this place, it is!

The Silver Spoon Graveyard Field
Another iconic farm field that we still return to metal detect to this day. We’ve pulled over 100 silver spoons from this field and close to 100 silver coins, but this first trip also produced something crazy, the oldest coin we ever found at over 1,500 years old!
300yr Old Family Farm
We traveled to Charley’s former family farm, which was in his family since the 1700s. Now a lifetime later we return to metal detect the grounds and leave with amazing treasures his ancestors may have lost centuries ago!
1600’s Farm & 2 Hammered Silvers!
The second trip metal detecting the now beloved Cob field, and on this day not only did we score a ton of buttons, old copper coins, and other amazing early relics, but TWO more hammered silver Cobs were found!
The Best Gold Ring I’ve Ever Seen
Another magical day metal detecting the Cob field. Not only to we find some amazing old coins and relics, but then our own Charley scores BIG TIME with the best find of his life, a gold ring with a beautiful red ruby stone!
The Field of 1,000 Holes - Day One
If we’re talking about iconic farm fields from the Quarter Hoarder channel then there’s no way to not talk about the Field of 1,000 Holes. Over 20 videos in total took place here with literally thousands of holes and countless incredible treasures. Here is Day One!
Detecting at the Edge of Nowhere
This colonial farm field not only goes way back in terms of the coins and relics we found, but it also goes way back for the Quarter Hoarder channel as it’s the first day we met and metal detected with Charley, seemingly at the Edge of Nowhere!
Another 1700s Farm Produces GOLD
If Charley isn’t the metal detecting king of farm fields then I don’t know who is. In this video he finds his 3rd GOLD ring lost in ancient farm fields like these!
1700’s Farm With Loads of Coins
We joined our friends Joe and Jody to metal detect an early 1700’s farm field and this place gave up some incredible old treasures, including a beautiful NJ State Copper Coin before America even had their own Mint!
